Safe roof – even in hurricanes
Kalzip standing seam roof passes the extreme test
In a series of tests carried out by the Farabaugh Engineering and Testing Laboratory in the USA, the Kalzip standing seam roof was put through its paces. The aim was to ensure its resilience in the event of a hurricane.
Test procedures were arranged for the structural performance of the roof system under static air pressure difference, an impact test procedure for impact resistance (e.g. from airborne debris) and a test for rain penetration resistance in strong crosswinds. The various test procedures were carried out in accordance with the Florida Testing Application Standard (TAS).
Conclusion
The Kalzip standing seam roof passed all the tests. This means that the system is demonstrably safe in extreme weather events. Especially in states such as Florida, which are regularly hit by hurricanes, the test results are of central importance.
Thoughtfully considered. KALZIP.
