Tested by the professionals – the Kalzip x EPG Guardians cooperation
Kalzip is now bringing something that is normally only intended for sports hall interiors to the outside world: ball impact resistance at a new level. In cooperation with the professional basketball players of EPG Guardians Koblenz, TF 37/800 R was put through its paces – with real plays, real balls and real forces. And the result? Impressive stability with no visible damage. If the façade can withstand the throws of a professional team, then it can also withstand those in the school playground.
DIN 18032-3 defines standards for ball impact resistance in interior spaces – but practice shows that this quality is also required outdoors. Kalzip innovatively transfers this standard to the outer skin of buildings.
Sustainability begins with the façade
The aluminium used is not only lightweight and corrosion-resistant, but also extremely resource-efficient with a recycling content of up to 90%. TF 37/800 R is therefore not only a statement in terms of design and protection, but also an active contribution to CO₂ reduction in the construction industry – a strong argument in the debate about sustainable school architecture.
Architecture meets practice: the Mühlauschule in Trittau
A concrete example of the successful use of TF 37/800 R is the Mühlauschule in Trittau. Architect Jan Braker deliberately chose this façade – in the exclusive AluPlusPatina Bronze B40 finish, among others. The warm, metallic sheen of this colour gives the educational building a high-quality, almost sculptural character and sets a confident architectural accent in the urban space. A façade that makes an impression from a distance – and convinces in every detail.
