CREATIVE DIVERSITY
The Acoustic Protection FaÇade
The façade protects buildings from various weather influences and, in the case of modern energy-efficient buildings, also from heat loss. As a further functional task, the external wall can also have a considerable influence on the volume of external noise. The FC façade system from Kalzip has now been further developed to combine sound-absorbing properties and design flexibility. The structure is very simple: designed as a simple rear-ventilated curtain wall, sound-absorbing thermal insulation is installed between the substructure and the perforated aluminium panels to limit sound transmission. With 3 or 6 millimetre perforations in the panels, some of the sound can pass through the panels. There it hits the thermal insulation and is absorbed by it.
