Sugar Silo in Nordstemmen
Sugar Silo in Nordstemmen, Germany
At its Nordstemmen site, Nordzucker is expanding its capacity with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art sugar silo. This project not only significantly increases storage capacity but also helps to reduce CO2 emissions by minimizing lorry traffic. With larger stockpiles, transportation can be more efficiently managed, contributing to a reduction in environmental impact, in line with the company’s sustainability strategy.
A key aspect of this project is the new roof provided by Kalzip. Approximately 3,000 square meters of conical aluminum standing seam profiles are currently being installed on the impressive 50-meter-high tower. This roofing solution combines cutting-edge technology with functionality, ensuring that the structure meets the rigorous demands of industrial construction while providing long-term durability and aesthetic integration into its surroundings.
Technical Implementation and Partnership
The installation of the roof is being carried out in partnership with Kaefer Isoliertechnik, a specialist in insulation and cladding for large-scale projects. Kalzip’s standing seam roofing system was selected for its quality and sustainability. The use of aluminum supports the environmental goals of the project, as the material is not only durable and recyclable but also lightweight, making transport and installation more efficient.
Thoughtfully considered. KALZIP.
