Renovation of the swimming pool in Idstein, Germany

In the Rheingau-Taunus district in southern Hessen, the Idstein leisure pool will undergo extensive renovation in early 2023 following a fire. Covering an area of around 750 square meters, the swimming pool offers a wide range of play and swimming facilities for young and old alike. The roof covering with its dome-shaped vault remains a striking feature. 

As part of the renovation work, the trapezoidal sheet metal in the roof area above the slide complex was completely replaced – including insulation, vapor barrier, and waterproofing. The existing sheet metal cladding and insulation of the dome were dismantled using a crane. Kalzip aluminum standing seam profiles laid in an arc were used for the new roof construction. The individual profiles were installed with a precise fit from the center of the roof and welded precisely at the transitions to ensure a permanently rainwater-tight and durable roof surface.
