Super Bowl LIX: Kalzip secures the stage for the world’s biggest sporting event

4. February 2025/in News, Projects/by David Jendreizak

Februar 2025

Koblenz – When Super Bowl LIX kicks off at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on 9 February 2025, the battle for the Lombardi Trophy will not be the only focus. A German company will also be playing a key role: Kalzip. With its innovative aluminium façade, the Koblenz-based façade and roof specialist has made a significant contribution to the restoration of the iconic stadium.

The German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalisation – diind for short – supports companies in a future-oriented transformation. diind recognises specific examples of success with corresponding seals. For example, the Fairness First award emphasises corporate responsibility with regard to social, ecological and economic aspects. The institute assesses aspects such as integrity and reliability towards employees, customers and business partners.

From destruction to the Super Bowl stage

The Caesars Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints, was extensively renovated after the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Katrina (2005). Kalzip supplied 85,000 m² of weatherproof aluminium cladding, which not only preserves the historic appearance of the stadium, but also makes it more resistant to extreme weather conditions. Thanks to the flexible fastening technology, the façade elements could be installed both from top to bottom and vice versa – a decisive advantage for the fast and efficient refurbishment.

Koblenz innovation on the world’s biggest stages

The fact that Kalzip is represented on the world’s most spectacular buildings was recently demonstrated by the Sphere in Las Vegas – one of the most impressive multimedia buildings in the world, for which Kalzip supplied innovative solutions. The Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, which has been extensively modernised, also relies on the expertise from Koblenz.

‘From Koblenz to the Super Bowl – this shows what is possible with innovation and precision. Our solutions are in demand worldwide, and it makes us proud that Kalzip is once again playing a central role in one of the world’s biggest sporting events. The Superdome is not just a stadium, but a symbol of resilience and technical excellence – values that also characterise Kalzip.’ – [Yannick de Beauregard, Head of Marketing/Public Relations at Kalzip GmbH]

Now the next highlight is on the horizon: Super Bowl LIX – one of the world’s biggest sporting events – is taking place in a stadium that would be unthinkable in its current form without Kalzip.

Super Bowl LIX: Eagles vs. Chiefs – a final in a class of its own

The Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs are two absolute top teams in Super Bowl LIX.

On 9 February 2025, they will meet at Caesars Superdome and battle for the most important title in American football in front of millions of viewers worldwide. While the world is watching the pitch, it is also worth taking a look at the architecture: the innovative façade from Kalzip not only provides an impressive look, but also a sustainable, long-lasting solution for one of the most important stadiums in the world.
