Solar Roof Systems Kalzip®

Solar systems

Modern and innovative solar architecture for every requirement

Kalzip solar roof systems integrate photovoltaic modules into the building envelope for on-site renewable energy generation. The AluPlusSolar system incorporates CIGS thin-film solar cells adhered to the aluminum standing seam panels, offering a seamless, lightweight solution for new constructions. The SolarClad system provides a retrofit option for existing structures, attaching flexible PV laminates without roof penetration. Both systems optimize energy generation, even in low-light conditions, while maintaining the roof’s aesthetic appeal.

With the FA PV seam clamp, it is also possible to retrofit existing Kalzip roofs with elevated/clamped PV modules. Kalzip & DICONAL have invented a new seam clamp that enables this application.

With the Kalzip Solar Roof, the roof surface is fitted with solar power modules and can therefore be used to generate solar power.

The advantages of a solar roof:

  • Maximum design freedom for sophisticated property architecture thanks to a roof-integrated photovoltaic system without additional fixing elements
  • Lightweight design (7 kg/m² system weight), adaptable to various roof geometries because of the flexible PV module (AluplusSolar)
  • Retrofitting of existing Kalzip roofs for all construction widths with a very low dead weight of 3.3 kg/m² (SolarClad)
  • Building authority-approved seam clamps for maximum safety
  • Optimum utilisation of solar energy even in low light conditions

The future of renewable energy generation

The advantages of the Kalzip Solar Roof:

  • Aesthetic photovoltaics with full integration in the aluminium roof
  • Suitable for cold and warm roof design
  • High efficiency thin-film CIGS PV cells/Modules
  • Can be connected with commercially available DC connection boxes, can be controlled with conventional inverters
  • Dirt-repellent and glare-free surface – minimal maintenance required
  • High system reliability thanks to internal connection technology
  • High performance guarantee (guarantee available on request)

Applications for solar roofs:

  • Roof integration: Kalzip solar modules can be integrated into the roof to provide an aesthetically pleasing and seamless solution for power generation.
  • Façade integration: The solar modules can also be integrated into the façade to achieve an additional electricity yield and at the same time improve the appearance of the building.
  • Industrial applications: Kalzip solar systems are suitable for industrial applications such as warehouses, factory halls or production buildings.
  • Public facilities: Solar systems can be installed on public buildings such as schools, community centres or libraries to ensure a sustainable energy supply and reduce energy costs.
