Double recognition for Kalzip at the Pitched Roofing Awards 2026

Two standout projects, two TeamKal success stories and one award category: Kalzip is celebrating double recognition at the 2026 Pitched Roofing Awards, with Belfast Grand Central Station and Chesterfield & Derby Hospitals both named as finalists.

We are delighted to announce that two projects featuring Kalzip roofing solutions have been shortlisted for the Pitched Roofing Awards 2026 in the category “Best use of a profiled metal roof”.

Belfast Grand Central Station and Chesterfield & Derby Hospitals have both made the shortlist, highlighting the quality, technical expertise and close collaboration behind the delivery of complex architectural roofing projects.

The Pitched Roofing Awards celebrate outstanding workmanship, innovation and technical expertise across the UK roofing sector. Being selected as a finalist is therefore a fantastic achievement for everyone involved – and a great recognition of what can be achieved when design ambition, system expertise and specialist installation come together.

Belfast Grand Central Station – a TeamKal success story

As one of Northern Ireland’s most significant transport infrastructure projects, Belfast Grand Central Station is a striking example of architecture delivered at scale.

Kalzip worked closely with TeamKal partner Thornton Roofing on the project, bringing together specialist installation expertise and Kalzip system know-how to help realise the architectural vision.

Kalzip also took the lead in preparing and submitting the project for the Pitched Roofing Awards – making its selection as a finalist an especially rewarding moment for the entire project team.

On the official 2026 shortlist, Belfast Grand Central Station is recognised as Farrans Sacyr with Kalzip.

For us, the nomination demonstrates something that goes beyond the roofing system itself. Complex architecture requires solutions that can translate design intent into a technically viable, buildable and high-quality result. That is where close collaboration between architects, contractors, specialist installers and manufacturers becomes essential.

The good news does not stop in Belfast.

Chesterfield & Derby Hospitals, delivered by TeamKal partner MAC Roofing & Contracting with Kalzip, has also been shortlisted in the “Best use of a profiled metal roof” category.

Having two Kalzip projects competing in the same category is a fantastic recognition of the expertise within the wider TeamKal network.
