The Louisiana Superdome, opened in 1975, remains the largest domed structure in the world to this day. Following the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Kalzip played a crucial role in the restoration of this architectural masterpiece.
Kalzip developed an innovative façade system that was specially designed to meet the demanding requirements of the Superdome. The façade consists of 85,000 square metres of aluminium, which not only perfectly reproduces the original appearance of the building, but also withstands extreme weather conditions. Thanks to the bidirectional, concealed fastening technology of the Kalzip FC façade system, aluminium profiles can be installed both from bottom to top and from top to bottom, enabling quick and flexible installation.
The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home to the legendary Real Madrid, is undergoing an impressive transformation that will make it one of the most modern and visually stunning stadiums in the world. Part of this transformation: Kalzip, your trusted partner for state-of-the-art aluminium roofing systems.
A special feature of the Kalzip system is the ability to easily remove and replace individual panels without affecting the adjacent panels or the overall appearance of the façade. This flexibility was crucial for the renovation, as it enables efficient and cost-effective maintenance. The façade panels were designed to withstand extremely high wind loads, thus ensuring the safety and longevity of the Superdome.
Renovation work was completed in April 2010, and the Superdome has been shining in new splendour ever since. Kalzip’s innovative solutions have enabled the Suaperdome to continue to serve as an important landmark and venue for major events such as the 2025 Super Bowl.
