Construction site of the week
PSI Synchotron, Villingen, Switzerland
The Paul Scherrer Institute – PSI for short – is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. Highly complex particle accelerators are used here for research purposes on an international level and enable ground-breaking findings in various scientific disciplines.
The most striking building at the Villingen site is the Swiss Light Source (SLS), which is currently being remodelled. In addition to new state-of-the-art equipment, the roof cladding is also receiving a comprehensive update. The AluPlusSolar system from Kalzip fulfils three essential requirements: Made of aluminium, it does not exceed the load-bearing capacity of the roof, it is quick and easy to install and provides the building with sustainably generated solar energy in the long term. The modernisation therefore not only contributes to the energy efficiency of the system, but also supports PSI’s sustainable research and development goals.
Thoughtfully considered. KALZIP.
