Former Kellogg’s Plant, Bremen

Construction Site of the Week – Former Kellogg’s Plant, Bremen

The former Kellogg’s plant in Bremen was a major production site for cornflakes since the 1980s, exporting to 50 different countries. The plant is located on the former Krupp-Atlas site directly on the Weser River. After production ceased in 2016, new plans were developed for the area. The former rice silo will be transformed into a modern office complex, and the iconic Kellogg’s building will soon house hotel rooms.

Kalzip plays a crucial role in the modernization of the building envelope. With a custom-made roofing solution, Kalzip contributes to an efficient and sustainable renovation. The new roofing system meets both aesthetic and technical requirements, ensuring the building’s historical charm is preserved while meeting the demands of modern architecture.

Collaboration and Technical Implementation

The roofing project is being carried out in collaboration with Frärks GmbH, responsible for the craftsmanship, and the Gruppe GME Architects, who are responsible for the architectural design. Kalzip provides an innovative roofing technology solution that is ideal for both new construction and renovations.

Roofers and tradespeople benefit from the flexibility and durability of Kalzip roofing systems. This project exemplifies how Kalzip contributes to the successful implementation of challenging renovation projects. More projects showcasing the potential of Kalzip solutions will follow in the future.

Thoughtfully considered. KALZIP.
