Kalzip handrail and walkway systems
Kalzip’s range of handrail and walkway systems provide protection and improve safety conditions for people working at height on Kalzip standing seam roofs.
These systems can be used independently, in combination with each other and in conjunction with any Kalzip walkway system to suit individual project requirements. |

Kalzip Versirail handrail system |
The ‘freestanding’ Kalzip Versirail handrail is a stylish system that is designed to be installed on Kalzip roofs with inbound pitches ranging from 1.5° to 6.0°, and is particularly suitable as a roof perimeter safety system where the pitch may be as great as 10.0°.
Tested and certified to EN 13374 – freestanding - this easy fix system’s upstands slot into specially designed hinged footplates which locate into fabricated aluminium base trays that either sit on top of, or fit neatly over the Kalzip roof sheet’s standing seams.
Kalzip Versirail also boasts a variety of upstand styles (straight, inclined and curved) to offer greater levels of safety, improve the aesthetic appearance of the structure by setting the handrail back from the roof eaves to create cleaner sightlines and generally complement the overall design of the building.
The Kalzip Versirail handrail system can be used in conjunction with both the Grillage and Suregrip walkway systems to suit individual project requirements. |

Kalzip handrail system |
The ‘fixed’ Kalzip handrail is a cost effective system which is easy to install and is done without penetrating the Kalzip roofing sheets and is achieved by using top hat stanchion bases with pre-attached ‘quick fix’ extruded aluminium seam clips that secretly secure the handrail system directly onto the standing seams.
Tested and certified to BS EN 1991-1-1 and EN 14122-3, this system is designed to maximise structural efficiency whilst meeting a wide range of loading requirements.
This stand alone handrail system is suitable for all cover widths of Kalzip sheets and can be installed on roofs with pitches ranging from 1.5° to 5.0°.

Kalzip Grillage walkway system |
The Kalzip Grillage walkway and handrail system is a modular system manufactured from extruded aluminium components. It offers a lightweight, durable, self-draining, low maintenance construction for simple and quick installation to the Kalzip standing seam roof system.
The system can be installed in plane to the roof at pitches up to 10°. Above this can be accommodated by stepped units and where a flat and level surface is required special clip extension pieces are utilised to counter the roof pitch. Extruded aluminium seam clips ensure a secure fixing method to the Kalzip seams without penetrating the sheets.

Kalzip Suregrip walkway |
The Kalzip Suregrip UPVC roof walkway system provides anti-slip walkways across roofs, for access and maintenance traffic and when subjected to normal conditions of exposure and use, will retain integrity for a period in excess of 25 years.
The system consists of an assembly of extruded PVC-U, moulded PVC-U and stainless steel components. The plank components are manufactured with a patterned surface to give improved slip resistance in dry and wet weather.
The Kalzip Suregrip walkway can be installed with handrails to both sides, one side only or without handrails. |

Kalzip treads and continuous walkways for sloping roofs |
Kalzip walkways have been specially developed to provide safe and regular access to sloping Kalzip roofs. They should be used in situations where recurrent maintenance work is required.
In addition to the mounting brackets, the system consists of a short step, a standing step and continuous access panels. These are securely attached and are fully adaptable to suit any roof angle up to a maximum of 45°.
Installation of the walkways is carried out by means of sturdy mounting brackets which are fixed on to the edges of the Kalzip roof seams by non-penetrative seam clips. |
