The Teamkal Awards 2009

The line up for this year’s Teamkal Awards saw some truly exceptional projects featuring originality, sustainability, best practice, quality installation and technical excellence: all qualities that underpin and exemplify the skills that have made the Teamkal Network the success that it is today.

Recognising these attributes were this years judges: Brian Ditchburn – Populous, Stuart McLarty – DNA Architects, Steve Poole – Laing O’Rourke and Andy Hazlehurst – Kier Build whose expertise and judgements determined those projects and companies that, they believe, have excelled in their field.

Highly Commended Installer: Lakesmere Ltd Project: West Ham Bus Depot What the judges said “Exceptionally well detailed facility. A credible landmark for 2012 delightfully executed.”

Best Kalzip project under 1500 sqm
Winner Installer: T A Colbourne Ltd Project: Block C, East Side Plaza, Portsmouth What the judges said “A stunning project with a complex and intricate installation. A credit to the product and installation teams.”
Highly Commended Installer: Fowler McKenzie Ltd Project: Anderson Street Housing Development, Inverness What the judges said “Aesthetically impressive serpentine roof design.”

Best sustainable Kalzip project
Winner Installer: Hathaway Roofing Ltd Project: Asda Bootle What the judges said “From clear project objectives we have the delivery of a high quality thoroughly considered sustainable building that raises thebar for retail competitors.”
Highly Commended Installer: Lakesmere Ltd Project: Energus, Cumbria What the judges said “Good use of the product. A genuine attempt to utilise green technology in conjunction with good design and workmanship.”

Highly Commended Installer: Rossway Dowd Ltd Project: NIBSC, Hertfordshire What the judges said “Seems to have it all - architectural flair, curves, innovation, mixed with traditional materials to deliver an absolutely stunning result.”

Winner Installer: EHS Roofing Project: Earls Court Underground Station, London What the judges said "Sympathetic refurbishment that demonstrates the versatility of the product to bring the old into the modern age.”
