The material core of FalZinc consists of salt water resistant aluminium alloy AlMn1Mg0.5 (EN AW-3005) or AlMn0.5Mg0.5 (EN AW-3105) according to DIN EN 573-3, which is initially processed to accurately balance the physical properties and is then subjected to a special temperature treatment that gives the material its outstanding qualities for shaping and forming.

In the PEGAL procedure patented by Corus, a zinc surface is then applied to the aluminium core.
